Description

Yellow ribbons became a symbol of support used by Americans during the Hostage Crisis. Ambassador Bruce Laingen’s wife, Penne, was one of the first to tie a yellow ribbon around a tree in her yard in the hope that her husband would be the one to untie it once he was released.
